Dorset Knob 1 Hamworthy Recreation Res. 3
We went into this game with a very strong side and looking for revenge!!! We started well and were in control from the off with Dykesy, Mikey and Dawsey causing havoc upfront and Wayner and Pip terrorising them on the wings. With our defence, midfield and keeper solid as ever I felt we would win comfortably from the start.
It wasn't long before we took the lead, Wayner went past a couple of defenders and whipped in a fantastic cross that Mikey directed home; 1-0. Another good move saw what looked like a great goal from Dykesy disallowed due to a dubious offside decision from the Knob Linesman!!!
We went two up soon after when Rich Sands hit a great shot that went in via the post to give us a 2 goal lead at the break.
The second half started just as well for us with Pip having a fantastic game on the right, handling everything the Knob could throw at him. He picked out Wayner on the left wing with a great pass, Wayner then whipped in another great cross that Pip was on hand to finish brilliantly, this made it 3.0 and the game was over.
We had chances to go further ahead but were denied by the Dorset Knob keeper. Tom stopped it being a nervy finish for us with a string of fine saves but he was finally beaten towards the end when the Knob got a consolation goal to make the final score 3.1.
This was a massive result and 3 points for us and its now game on with Electric in the race for the title.
