Bournemouth Electric 1 Hamworthy Recreation Res. 2
This was a really important game for us as it could decide the title. We started off really well and put them under pressure from the off; we went close on an number of occasions and were unlucky not to take the lead, Electric were dangerous on the counter attack but our defence were as solid as ever and anything that the defence didn't clear was dealt with superbly by young Tom in goal.
We had to reshuffle the team on 30 mins when Gav Haynes suffered a nasty muscle injury and had to be replaced by Kyle Barrington, Kyle settled in quickly and the change did not affect us. We started the second half well and soon got the breakthrough we deserved.
A great move between Dawsey and Dykesy finished with Dyskey putting the ball into the net to put us 1 nil up. Unfortunately the lead didn't last long - a misplaced pass from Wayner put Electric in and they scored easily to make it 1.1. There was still time for Wayner to redeem himself though, he went on one of his trademark runs, cut in from the right and smashed the ball into the top corner from 35 years leaving their keeper with no chance.
There was still time for a 20 man punch up after a shocking tackle from the Electric centre midfielder but my lads managed to hold on for a fantastic win that puts us in with a chance of the league title.  The Banana man outfit was awarded to Wayner this week after he had to come off with a injury in a rather delicate area id you know what I mean!

Hamworthy Recreation Res. 1  Suttoners Civil 2
This was a real chance for us to get some breathing space at the top of the league but we failed to take it with a shocking performance. A bad attitude in the warm up carried on into the match and we were 2.0 down before we had even had a shot on goal.
Beaver pulled a goal back in the second half and despite us going 4 up front we couldn't get back into the game.
The less said about this game the better!  The Bananaman outfit was not handed out this week because the Ham Rec Manager (me) was in a bad mood after a shocking performance!!!!
Rees, Vincent, D Notley, Barrington, Hatchard, Sweetland, Austin, Barham, Dykes, Dawe, Manuel  Subs Huckle (for Notley), Dudfield (for Austin), Whelan
Bit of sad news after this game when Duds announced he was retiring from football, as he's now self employed and after seeing his mate suffer a similar injury Duds has decided to quit while he's ahead. From someone who was there when Duds broke his leg so badly just over 2 years ago I just wanted to say what a good effort Duds made to come back and play again at all and to thank him for all his hard work this season. I speak for all the lads and we will miss him although he assures me he will continue to come and watch and still act like a drunk on team nights out!
