Westover Bournemouth 2  Ham Rec Res. 3
This top of the table clash started at a frantic pace with us on the attack straight away, putting the suspect Westover keeper under a lot of early pressure.  We were definitely on top and creating most chances.  Every time they did go on the attack our defence dealt with it comfortably, Tom in goal was having a quiet afternoon but dealt confidently with everything that was thrown at him.  With half an hour gone Duds suffered a twisted knee and had to be replaced by Dawsey who was still fuming about the £5.00 fine he had incurred for turning up for the game still lashed from the night before!!!! We took a deserved lead going into half time when the Westover Keeper fumbled a shot, Dawsey was 1st to it to smash home the ball with his 1st touch; 0-1.
The tables soon turned in the 2nd half with Westover starting very strongly and putting us under pressure from the start.  It wasn't long before they equalised.  After a bit of a goalmouth scramble they managed to put the ball into the back of the net; 1-1.  Jamie O'Hara replaced Gavin in the middle to give us a bit more going forward, he was getting a lot of Joy and whipped in some great crosses. We were undone again when a long ball from Westover was missed by our defence leaving their Striker with an easy lob to put them 2.1 in front. With 10 mins to go we threw on Josh Whelan and went 3 up front in search of an equaliser.  With only minutes remaining Josh won us a free kick on the edge of their box.  With Dan and Dixie standing over the ball I was screaming for Dan to take the kick from the touchline.  Thankfully Dan and Dixie ignored my shouts and Dixie curled a superb free kick into the corner of the net to earn us what we thought was an equaliser; 2-2.
We were well into stoppage time now but the boys had their tails up, Wayne Hole picked the ball up on the left and went on a mazy run before picking out Dawsey on the edge of the box and Dawsey swept the ball into the bottom corner to give us an unlikely 3.2 lead.  This led to jubilant celebrations led by Beaver who seemed to forget about his groin injury and sprint 20 yards onto the pitch to join in the bundle.  From now on Dawsey will be encouraged to go out on the lash every Friday night!!!!  There was still time for another Westover attack; a cross came in from the right but the Westover midfielder’s bullet header was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Tom with one of the best and most important saves you will see all season.
The final whistle finally sounded to give us a great victory and send us to the top of the table. With some big games coming up, the next month will make or break our season, if we can get through November unbeaten I don't think there is any reason why we cannot be genuine title contenders.
